His Majesty the late King Ghazi bin Faisal I
His Majesty King Ghazi bin Faisal I, may God bless his soul, was the second king of Iraq, ruling from 1933 to 1939. He had clear Arab nationalist orientations.
His Majesty was born on March 12, 1912, in Mecca, and lived under the care of his grandfather, Sharif Hussein bin Ali, the Sharif of Mecca and leader of the Great Arab Revolt.
His Majesty was named Crown Prince in 1924 and then became King of Iraq in 1933. He was blessed with his only son, Faisal, in 1935.
His Majesty King Ghazi, may God bless his soul, passed away on April 4, 1939.
