Orthodox Church of the Greeks

Orthodox Church of the Greeks Recognizing the material and spiritual value embodied in documents and the extensive history of Jordan, and in an effort to actively contribute to cultural, scientific, and knowledge-based cooperation and enhance it, as well as to embody the shared desire for collaboration in the fields of research, documentation, restoration, knowledge dissemination, and preservation of Jordanian, Hashemite, and Arab documents, the Royal Hashemite Documentation Center signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of documentation, restoration, and knowledge dissemination with the Greek Orthodox Church in Karak, and the Church of the Annunciation of the Greek Orthodox in Abdali to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the church documents. The center undertook the tasks of detection, electronic classification, and the restoration of church documents and manuscripts.

The documents that were archived in the center's database include the following:

•    The Book of Sacred Mysteries in Arabic.
•    The Great Kanon Book in Arabic.

•    The Pentecostarion (Easter period).
•    The Paraklesis Book.
•    The Menaion in Greek.
•    The Triodion in Greek.
•    The Lives of the Saints, Synaxarion.
•    The Gifts Book for the Arab Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem.
•    The Book of Psalms Commentary.
•    The Book of Noble Sermons.
•    The Divine Liturgy Service.

And a number of rare manuscripts.
